Synopsis
Organisational workplaces are inherently diverse but one element of diversity that is typically overlooked is the age variation of employees and the range of generations involved. Even in a small practice, you often have employees from at least three different generations, and frequently four! In this engaging and thought-provoking session, Nicola and Joe will explore the concept of generational biases and how they shape our assumptions and interactions within practice teams. Attendees will gain an understanding of mental models highlighting why the same challenge can look entirely different to different people. They will also consider the factors that affect effective feedback and motivation, equipping veterinary leaders and team members with strategies to engage and support others more constructively. Finally, they will offer practical guidance on how to foster meaningful mentoring relationships that support professional growth and wellbeing across all stages of a veterinary career.
