How Vetted Recruitment can help in a candidate-short market

The recruitment landscape is changing and we know challenges within the veterinary profession have been exacerbated over the last few years:
– Brexit and Covid 19 which saw many vets leave the UK or the profession altogether
– Increase in tele-medicine and other non-practice alternatives leading to a diversification amongst the existing workforce
– Increase in pet ownership during the pandemic which has increased demand for clinic hours
Now that the pandemic is nearing its end, we feel that a focus on increasing the numbers of Veterinary Surgeons working in the UK is one way in way we can help ease the burden on practices and their teams.

Due to the UK’s new immigration system, the Skilled Worker visa is often the only viable route through which overseas Veterinary Surgeons can secure employment in the UK
In order to employ someone from overseas with a Skilled Worker Visa, you need a Home Office Sponsor Licence.
Fewer than 10% of independent practices in the UK currently hold this licence, but EVERY corporate practice in the UK does, so as a practice without a licence you are not competing on a level playing field with your corporate competitors and they are already at an advantage.
This is why we have recently completed registration with the OISC (Office of the Immigration Standards Commissioner) and are regulated to provide immigration advice at level 1. This allows us to guide you through the process of applying for your sponsorship licence and managing your overseas employees.

In addition to international resourcing, Vetted Recruitment also work with candidates within the UK, across all clinical disciplines and levels of experience. We are happy to help with non-clinical practice roles, such as Reception and Practice Management. Our focus is permanent recruitment, but we support with locum needs where necessary.
Our inhouse background and experience of both running practice and Human Resources mean we can also offer additional services with other aspects of your recruitment processes
