Quality Improvement: Taking your practice forward
Pam Mosedale, RCVS Knowledge QI Clinical Lead – In Association with RCVS Knowledge
Amelia Poole, RCVS Knowledge QI Project Manager – In Association with RCVS Knowledge
Clinical audits, protocols and checklists are increasingly common in vet practice and are a requirement for the higher levels of the Practice Standards Scheme (PSS) and the awards – with clinical audits becoming a PSS requirement for GP practices, not just hospitals, from October 2021. But often these are devised by practice owners and/or clinical directors and not shared as widely as they might be with the whole team. It can be felt that these are ‘clinical’ and yet for them to work, the whole team from practice manager to nurses to receptionists need to be on board.
This interactive virtual CPD day will start with an introduction to ‘QI’, cover the clinical audit, checklists and systems, looking at why errors occur, and how to run a successful, no blame, ‘significant event’ audit. There will be opportunities to share experiences with other delegates, pick up lots of useful information and practical tips and understand how to apply these to your particular practice and, most importantly, how to get the whole team on board.
Who will benefit:
Clinical Directors and Head Nurses, as well as Practice Managers – anyone involved with setting up and overseeing or implementing reporting and operating procedures and improving practice systems.
SPVS Member – £95 | Non-Member – £195
