Becoming a member of SPVS has all kinds of rewards. We make sure that you get access to the best advice and support out there, as well as the first look at new industry stats and benchmarking. PLUS we give you great deals on new and upcoming events and much, much more! Take a look at what we offer….
Surveys & Benchmarking
We publish the invaluable annual SPVS Fee Survey and SPVS Salaries Survey, both free to members.
Latest News & Support
We keep our members up to date with current issues via Practice Life, the journal we share with VMG and regular e-zines.
Our active e-mail discussion group, exclusive to members, offers quick and confidential access to a large group of others in practice who have often already “been there and done that” and who will be happy to share their experiences or learn from you.
Events & CPD
In partnership with VMG, we run a programme of events, including regional business and management CPD across the country and our Joint Annual Congress, the largest non-clinical veterinary conference in the UK. Members are eligible for large discounts.
We run networking and social events such as our annual Snowscene, a highly enjoyable way to gain valuable CPD while socialising and networking with other SPVS members and their partners and families.
We have negotiated a range of preferential rates and affiliation schemes to save you or your practice money. Some of these will more than cover the cost of your membership!
The SPVS Member Employers’ Helpline, provided by Citation, is available Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, excluding public holidays. In each membership year, SPVS members can call the helpline up to three times to receive free advice on a single employment issue.
We offer individual support to members with specific issues or queries. Email your query to email@example.com and we will circulate on your behalf to our Officer team.
SPVS has a dedicated recent graduate support team and is the main organiser of the Lancaster Final Year Students’ Seminar (preparing soon-to-qualify undergraduates for life after graduation). Access to the Recent Graduate Support Officer for support and advice (email firstname.lastname@example.org). We offer a reduced membership for recent graduates.
Working with Citation, we are able to offer a series of H&S fact sheets, including RIDDOR, Young persons and Children at work, Guide to Employment Law Basics, Fire Safety – roles and responsibilities and more. Please click here to see the full list.
