ILM Level 3 Award Leadership Development Qualification.

A 12 week online programme specifically developed for veterinary practices. It is designed to help support and develop delegates who have management responsibilities but no formal training in a number of areas relating to leadership, management and personal effectiveness.  It will support managers in leading people through change and other practice pressures and priorities.  It is more than just a training event or course. It is an active learning process that will incorporate “learning by doing”. It will be focused on your practice, with the activities and tasks related to the specific needs of them as individuals, as well as the practice.

Module One – Leading and Motivating a team
This first module is the basis for successful business performance and the role of management is to effectively communicate, organise and motivate individuals and teams to enable this to happen. In this workbook you will understand the need for teams to have a sense of vision and purpose that links directly to where the practice wants to be.

Module Two – Understanding Leadership
This second module/ assignment covers leadership theories and allows the delegate to understand their own preferred style(s) and gather feedback from other practice staff in order for them to develop a Personal Development Plan to enhance their leadership skills going forward.

Module Three- Managing Performance Management.
The final workbook has been developed to support the delegate when undertaking performance management discussions, introducing them to new tools and techniques which will make the discussion much easier, and much more likely to have a positive outcome.
There is no assignment with this workbook.

The course comprises 3 workbooks and 2 assignments. The workbooks have been designed to help you gather information to complete your assignment.  Throughout the course delegates will be supported by a qualified business coach on a 1-2-1 basis who will work with them on a wide variety of issues and problems in order to ensure the assignments pass first time.  Delegates can also submit partly completed assignments for feedback to help keep them on the right lines.

There is an optional line managers pack to help measure before and after competency and line managers are also offered support in any part of the programme including feedback clarification.

To obtain the ILM qualification all delegates are required to register as students with the ILM.  This registration gives students access to the support of the complete range of ILM benefits and tools for one year.
