Synopsis
In this session Dan and Amanda will share powerful insights from their inspiring work embedding restorative practices into human and animal healthcare. Also drawing on lived experiences from safety-critical sectors such as aviation, they explore how restorative just cultures can transform harm into healing, blame into accountability, and fear into psychological safer practices. This session reveals how values-based leadership, grounded in compassion and respect, builds inclusive, learning-focused environments where people feel safe to speak and safe to act. Through models like The Reflective Framework, The Safer Practice Model, and Restorative Decision-Making, they offer practical tools for veterinary leaders to embed compassionate accountability, and to support practice environments that are humane by design. Expect a compelling, heart-led conversation about systemic change – one where truth and trust can co-exist to support a culture of continuous learning and evolution, where people and teams truly thrive.
