HR Foundations
The SPVS HR Foundations course equips you with the HR fundamentals every manager and director should understand when leading and managing people within a business. It is not a detailed course, rather to be used as a holistic overview of some of the key HR areas. It is a starting point with valuable substance, and an outline that can be followed when seeking further detailed knowledge.
The course looks at processes, people responsibilities, job design, engagement and motivation, recruitment, retention, return to work, culture, and much more. It also highlights some good resources and signposts to expert individuals and businesses on the various topics.

We’re offering the first session of Module 2 – which is all about Workplace Culture – as a FREE taster session!
‘What is Culture?’ is the first of 10 steps within this module and it sets the scene by asking: what is team culture, how is it created and why is a positive empowering culture so important in practice? Learn how to define your team purpose, your ‘Why’, and the core values that support this by agreeing upon shared attitudes and behaviour -your ‘Covenant’- (a pledge, a promise a bond).
Accessible by anyone and everyone, you don’t even need to be logged into your account to take advantage of this offer! Simply click the button below to access.
GP Mastery
The aim of the course is to help GP vets become more efficient and effective in their role, empowering them to enjoy their work in practice.
A mixture of face-to-face, asynchronous and online group learning allows for self study at a time to suit, networking with other delegates, and a regular monthly sum up discussion with the course tutors. Course cohorts are limited to 15 delegates to allow full discussion and peer to peer learning.
SPVS have brought together a selection of practitioners and experts, from across the veterinary profession, to deliver stimulating and engaging content. Tutors are experienced and approachable and will be happy to answer questions and concerns delegates have along the way.
