RCVS List of Approved Veterinary Schools
The European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) is the body responsible for overseeing standards at veterinary schools in Europe.
The following categories are listed:
Visited and approved establishments (full members):
Establishments found to meet the requirements of the EU Veterinary Training Directives, as interpreted in the EAEVE “Guidelines,requirements and main indicators” section of the “Standard Operating Procedures” document; in parentheses, year of the visit - year until approval is valid, that is when the next visitation should take place.
Visited and accredited establishments (full members):
Establishments found to meet the requirements of both stage I and stage II evaluations; in parenthesis, year of accreditation - year until accreditation is valid, that is when the next stage I and II visitation should take place
Visited and conditionally approved establishments (full members):
Establishments found to have 1 or 2 closely linked Category 1 Deficiencies; in this case ECOVE can judge whether these are likely to be able to be resolved within a period agreed between the Establishment and ECOVE, normally 2 or 3 years, and, if the judgment is positive, can assign “Conditional Approval”. The judgment of “Approval” or “Non-Approval” must fall within 5 years of the original Evaluation Visit.;in parentheses year when conditional approval was granted – year when conditional approval would convert into non-approved, if not revisited successfully
With pending visitation: establishments that have arranged a date for visitation or re-visitation.
Visited and not approved establishments (associate members): in parentheses year visited.
Not visited establishments (associate, non-voting members): establishments which have hitherto not applied for visitation.
